EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONSE (EFR) First-Aid course
Everyday life has a lot of hazards. Everyone can find himself or herself a situation where the health or the life of someone else is seriously threatened and where it is vital to act rapidly and effectively by providing first aid to the injured. It can happen at home, in the office, in an industrial working environment, on the road or during a trip abroad. How can you prepare for an emergency? By taking up first-aid training courses and learning life-saving techniques.
You will learn how to gain these skills with a qualified Emergency First Response Instructor who will teach you how to gain self-confidence you need in order to administer emergency care.
The Emergency First Response first-aid course teaches you how to respond to medical emergencies that threaten the life of a person (Primary Care, or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), and those that do not (Secondary Care, or First Aid). During this course, you will also learn how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
This first-aid course is required to become a certified Rescue Diver. As it teaches you to respond to situations you might encounter in everyday life (loss of consciousness following a shock, a traffic accident, drowning, bleeding, illness or any other injury), we encourage all family members to take this course.
Duration: 1 day or 2 half-days.
Price: 340 CHF
We also offer this first-aid course at your home for individuals and for the whole family. Please visit our Services page.
The aim of this course is to learn how to administer Oxygen to a diver should the need arise. By following this course, you will be able to effectively recognize scuba diving illnesses treatable with emergency oxygen and offer you aid.
You will learn about dive injuries, different types of emergency oxygen equipment and safety considerations when using oxygen. You will practice assembling and disassembling emergency oxygen equipment, deploying a non-rebreather mask and a demand inhalator valve on a breathing diver and using a pocket mask on a non-breathing diver.
This course is primarily intended for divers but has no prerequisite and does not require any dive. Anyone who is around divers, e.g. boat or shore-based crew, friends, family, etc., will benefit from having this training.
Furthermore, it is not required to follow a first-aid training prior to enroll for this course. However, the Emergency Oxygen Provider course is in itself an excellent complement to the Emergency First Response course.
Duration: 1 half-day.
Price: 220 CHF
We also offer this oxygen provider course at your home for individuals and for the whole family. Please visit our Services page.
